INTER-AMERICAN CHILD DRAWING CONTEST

On the occasion of holding the XIX Pan American Child Congress next October in Mexico City, the Inter-American Children’s Institute (IIN) and the Sistema Nacional para el Desarrollo Integral del la Familia del Gobierno de México (Mexican National System for Family Integral Development (DIF), hereby convene all children in the Americas and the Caribbean to participate in a Drawing Contest having as central theme “HOW DO I SEE MY FAMILY”.

 

Contest terms and conditions

  • Participants should be between 8 and 12 years old.

  • Participation will be individual and drawings should be original and unpublished.
  • Drawings must be presented in a letter-size sheet.
  • Drawing technique will be fully free.
  • Drawings should include a sentence or thought reflecting how the child SEES HIS/HER FAMILY.
  • The drawing’s reverse should include the following personal information: first name(s), surnames (mother and father), age, school grade, address, telephone nr(s), and e-mail address (optional);
    this information will be kept confidential by DIF.
  • Drawings must be delivered directly, either by mail or courier.
  • Participants will transfer their copyrights to DIF, drawings will not be returned to their authors and sponsor institutions will not be held responsible for the loss or damage of drawings during dispatch.

  • Drawings will be received from Monday 5 July through September 30th., 2004.

 

Awards

  • The best drawing from each participating country will be awarded a Special Recognition.

  • Drawings will be exhibited at the venue of the XIX Pan American Child Congress that will take
    place in Mexico City on 27-29 October, 2004, as well as on various events, institutions and 
    countries in the Americas.

  • Winning drawings will be published in the Web page www.iincpn.oas.org.

 

Jury: the drawings will be selected by a DIF specialized jury whose decision will be final and not open to appeal. For further information and details, please contact congresopanamericano@dif.gob.mx
